I read a quote from an unknown author recently: “Stop letting your potential go to waste because you don’t feel confident or ready enough. People with half your talent are making serious waves while you’re still waiting to feel ready.” I’ve been saying for years that, “I’m going to write a book about my Grandma ‘one of these days,’ or ‘when I retire.’” I’ve since been inspired to write down little moments from my grandsons’ lives and craft them into children’s stories. But I never felt confident in my writing ability – why would anyone want to read something I write? I don’t even really know where to start. I have no formal training. But I have a passion for this, so I decided to just start typing and write what I know and what I might want to read. If nothing else, these are family stories and maybe my kids and grandkids will want to read them one of these days. I think I’m ready for this writing adventure.
